Centenarian profile: EILEEN ASH
England's oldest living cricketer re-qualified for her driver's license at 105, and did yoga with English cricket captain Heather Knight. That was four years ago and she's still active.
From time to time I want to introduce some centenarians whose story I find particularly interesting or inspiring. Nothing heavy, no deep conclusions…just good fun.
It’s hard to beat Eileen Ash. She played cricket for England in the 1930s and 40s, while also working as a spy for MI5 during World War II. She took up golf in her 80s, but quite at 98. She successfully re-qualified for her driver’s license at the age of 105, and that same year appeared in a video with Heather Knight, the current English ladies’ cricket captain — a video which included a yoga workout. A year later, she took a flight in a Tiger Moth. What an amazing woman! Enjoy the video:
